Heyy

Hey guys. First I'd like to apologize for posting so many trailers lately. I just haven't seen any new posters/character banners/stills or heard any casting news that excites me. Ah, wellz. Anyway, I come to you with yet another trailer today. Deal with it. This one is for Zack Snyder's SuckerPunch. This movie's gone through A LOT of changes over the past year and a half or so. It was originally supposed to star a lot of bad bitches like Amanda Seyfried, Evan Rachel Wood and Emma Stone. Now we've got Vanessa Hudgens and the girl from Lemony Snicket. I don't know, you guyss. Jena Malone is a good catch, though, so I'm on the fence. Also Zack Snyder is the man behind 300 which was just, ugh, and Watchmen which I just could not bring myself to care about. The trailer is completely devoid of anything pertaining to plot, and yet, I am intrigued? Huh? Check it.

In case you were wondering it's supposed to be about Babydoll (Violet Baudelaire) being put into a mental asylum and rounding up some other crazy girls who then enter some sort of alternate universe to fight their way out. I think. Far out, bro. It's been described by Snyder as "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns." Vomit. I honestly cannot tell you how many times I've read that statement in the past year. Whateverrrr. Leave me your thoughts, please.

Also, can we all LOL our asses off at Rihanna joining Battleship? A movie adaptation of the game BATTLESHIP. LOL.

Devil

Hi guys. Have we recovered from the Deathly Hallows trailer? I haven't. But, I decided to bring something new to Sassy today. I've been keeping an eye on this project for a while, and with all the drama surrounding The Last Airbender, I thought it'd be nice to discuss M. Night Shyamalan in a positive light.

Today we have the debut of the first trailer for the film Devil. It's being touted as a story "from the mind of M. Night Shyamalan" with a script by Brian Nelson and direction by The Dowdle Bros (Quarantine). The story centers on a group of people trapped in an elevator. Cool! One of them is the devil. YIKES!!

Looks promising, eh? And SCARY!! I'm gonna go ahead and call it right now, I think the old lady is the devil. Because old people are mean. What are your guesses? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

PS Youtube, I am not amused by M. Night Shamadingdong. Maybe you're the reason why M. Night felt the need to racebend his last movie...

The Green Hornet

I had a lot of Sassy description lined up for this trailer, but now I'm just angry, tired, and starving. So here's the trailer.

The release date is January 14th, 2011. That should tell you a lot about the quality of this film.

Also, the video below was kind of depressing, so here's the real thing.

This. was. my. jam.

Cheers!

Template Devastation!

Some words regarding Sassy's new design.

So I logged on to make a post about the new Green Hornet trailer, which in hindsight is SO not worth all the drama that ensued, when I noticed that Blogger had new design templates!! Lovely! I'd been thinking Sassy needed a little makeover, so it was perfect! Too bad all the new templates are HIDEOUS!! Despite my horror, though, I decided I'd give one a try. So I picked a template and made all the necessary tweaks and thought, okay, this might not be so bad. When I tested it, though, OI! My poor eyes! Traumatized by my unholy creation I decided to go back to Sassy's original design. Too bad all the old templates are gone!! Ahhhh!!! I suspect this isn't completely irreversible, but it's getting late and now I'm tired and angry. So until I find a way to restore Sassy to her former glory, we're all going to have to do with this nasty template created by some evil hag named Tina Chen. Could it be????

Cute!

Hey guys. I am assuming that we are all aware that Toy Story 3 opens next Friday. YesYes? And we're all pretty excited right? I mean, we've grown up with Andy, Woody, Buzz and the crew. This is a big moment for us!!

Anyway, Pixar and Google have teamed up and made this little gem of a vid. Check it out!

Love it! Sound off in comments!

New Trailer!!

Back on my CSULB movie blog, I posted the teaser for Michael Cera's new quirky-nerd-falls-in-love film, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. By now we've all heard the "Michael Cera plays the same character in every movie" complaint, but you know what? It's a pretty awesome character. Who doesn't love George-Michael Bluth? Perhaps I'm just charmed by his lanky two-pound frame and whisper voice. Anyway, the full trailer, which will play in front of Get Him to the Greek this Friday, has just been released! Rejoice!

Michael Cera, action star? From Edgar Wright, director of Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead aka Best Movie Ever?? I'm there. Oh and is that Kieran Culkin I see?? Lovely. So tell me, people, will YOU be seeing Scott Pilgrim??? Sound off in the comments, bbs!

PS: It's on like Donkey Kong? I feel violated.

Anyone Here Like Transformers?

I'm not exactly what you would call a fan of this franchise, but I was very intrigued when I heard Megan Fox was fired (or quit, depending on whose story you believe) from Transformers. She got a lot of bad press last summer after comparing Michael Bay to Hitler. But, of course Bay gets a lot of bad press for making terrible movies. I digress. A ton of names were thrown around regarding Fox's replacement including Bar Rafaeli (not an actress) and Brooklyn Decker (not an actress) and none of them were very interesting to me. Something that WAS interesting to me? The "audition tape" Heidi Pratt (DEFINITELY not an actress) shot and sent to Michael Bay. Check that out for the lulz:

Clearly, this is the stuff that action stars are made of...

Anywho...it seems that all that combat training wasn't enough for the studio, since it has now been confirmed that Victoria's Secret Angel and non-Actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has snagged the role of Shia Labeouf's new love interest! What an upset! VS even made a congratulatory video for their Angel.

Lovely. :)

So what are our thoughts on this choice? Even though she never really had anything to do besides run around and look hot, I was kind of sad to see Megan Fox go. Only because I have absolutely no idea what kind of roles she'll take now. Jonah Hex looks awful. I did hear an interesting rumor, though, of her being offered a role as a mermaid in Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (another awful franchise), but it's too soon to say whether or not that'll come through. And on some twisted level, I could almost buy Shia Labeouf being with Megan Fox. But, now I'm supposed to believe Sam Witwicky has ANOTHER ridiculously hot girlfriend. Tough sell, in my opinion.

What do you guys think? Oh and be sure to answer my Heidi-related pool.

Cheers. :)

Spider-Man, Spider-Man

Here we go!!! First revamped blog post. Exciting! So, one of the stories I followed on my other blog was the Spider-Man reboot. Quick refresher, production on Spider-Man 4 came to a halt after the studio couldn't come up with a proper script. So the cast/Sam Raimi walked and Sony announced plans for a full reboot. Why now instead of, ohhh, 10-15 years from now when films 1-3 have a chance to fade from the pop-culture lens, who knows? But, Sony and new/former music video director Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) are going full steam ahead and are currently looking for a new Peter Parker! Basically every name in Hollywood under 25 has been thrown around including the beastly Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson and the Olympians)**** but Slashfilm uncovered a new shortlist today! The front-runners are:

Jamie Bell (too old in my opinion, but an interesting choice otherwise)

Andrew Garfield (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus)

Alden Ehrenhreich (that last name was a bitch to me) Who'd like to tell me who this guy is? Anyone?

Frank Dillane (teenage Tom Riddle in HBP)

and the always-welcome-in-my-life/jailbait/I mean wut?? Josh Hutcherson (It was way too hard to find a non-douchey post-puberty picture)

Okay, so what are our thoughts? Any preferences? Did the Tom Riddle picture make you giggle as much as I did?? I think it's the soft-focus...

Or are we just against this whole venture? For those of you who are (like me) let's just get out our 500 Days of Summer DVDs and wait for our very own Joseph Gordon-Levitt to sashay into our lives. Animated bird and all...

**** The only problem I have with Logan Lerman is the fact that he starred in that Percy Jackson disaster. Get out of here with that mess!! #HPftw

Hi Guys...

It's been a loooooooooooooong time, hasn't it? K, so this summer I'm planning on starting Sassy again, and I know I've said this many times before, but I'm going to try real hard to make it stick this time. I'd like to take this time to comment on some changes Sassy'll be going through over the next few weeks....

I spent this last semester posting blogs on a different/CSULB private account. I meant to copy/paste them here, but I was lazy. lulz. Anywayyy, it was suggested by my professor and the Journalism Day Panel ~ooh la la~ that we continue blogging on our "beats" (mine was movies, shockingly enough) so that potential internship people/future employers can see that we know how to 1) follow a beat 2) post on a regular schedule and 3) write coherent sentences. I did all 3 very well I might say (100% on my semester-long blog holla holla) and I figured it was because I had so much ~experience writing here on Sassy. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that from now on Sassy will be less about my life and things I like and more about movie stuff such as trailers/casting/box office, etc. Sad, I know, but I'll try to throw in some personal stuff every now and then, too. It shouldn't be too bad. My own ~sassy voice will remain intact and there will be plenty of tildes to go around. ~~~~~!! Sound good?

Onward!
